There’s life beside the forest. Louis Charlois spends his days in the woods with his brother Pierre. They are wood buyers and cutting clerks, as were their grandfather Denis and their father Sylvain. Louis has a passion beyond the forest. A passion for art, painting in particular, to which he devotes himself with a certain talent.<\/p>\n\n

On Friday November 24, 2023, 6:30 pm, rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Nevers, was the opening of the Illus’ Christmas boutique, a group of illustrators from the Nivernais region, including 2Spacy alias Louis Charlois. The 24-year-old artist offers some thirty original works straight out of his colorful, surrealist, pointillist universe… “I’ve been drawing relentlessly since I was a child. I’ve been drawing non-stop since I was a kid, it’s a passion”. It’s a passion that took him to London to study illustration and animation at the Kingston School of Art, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree.<\/p>\n\n

As comfortable with his graphic palette as with his posca*, with small formats, large formats and any other medium, Louis offers colorful creations inspired by the pop-art and low-brow worlds (comics, advertising, graffiti, cartoons). His works are on sale in the Illus Christmas store on rue des Francs-Bourgeois in Nevers. A great idea for a unique and original gift.<\/p>\n\n
