ARTISTS’ RESIDENCIES

The Charlois Fund for Art and the Forest provides ongoing support for contemporary art in all its forms of expression by welcoming artists in residence to the village of Murlin, surrounded by the Nivernais Forest, in an environment conducive to creativity.

The artists’ residencies are housed in completely restored buildings. Each residency has a living space for an artist and his or her family, and a private studio for creative work. The works created during these residencies will be displayed to the public in the Charlois Fund for Art and the Forest’s exhibition spaces. The artists will also be invited to present their work in progress at studio open houses. Artists are selected by “calls for applications” and “calls for projects”. Open applications are also accepted. Applications (CV, portfolio and letter of intent setting out the artist’s motivations and describing the art project) should be forwarded to contact@fondscharlois.com
